Helping other: Marc Cain donates to Corona emergency aid fund and children in Malawi
The German Red Cross supports long-term projects as well as in acute emergencies.
Marc Cain finds this fast help in emergency crisis situations highly important, which is
the reason the fashion brand is particularly keen to support the Corona emergency aid
fund of the German Red Cross. Through the sale of mouth-nose masks, Marc Cain has
been able to donate an amount of €25,000. A further project close to the company’s
heart has now been completed: School education for children in Malawi.
Nose and face masks can help to protect others. This is why right at the beginning of
the Corona crisis, Marc Cain decided to create such masks in a fashionable look. During
the campaign period from 1 April to 30 June, a part of the proceeds was donated to the
Corona emergency aid fund of the German Red Cross. Among other things, the German
Red Cross has several mobile medical practices in use to relieve hospitals and clinics
when needed, and also caters for local fever measuring stations. Marc Cain is pleased
to now be able to donate an amount of €25,000 to the DRK through the sale of the
masks.
Another project close to the fashion brand’s heart has now been completed: School
education for children in Malawi by Plan International. Happily sitting at the school desk
and enjoying lessons in fully-equipped classrooms is not a matter of course for children
in the region. Marc Cain dedicated itself to the project and supported the child rights’
organisation with donations. All the projects planned could thus be implemented
including the completion of construction work for the new classrooms at Mkoma
Primary School."Doing good, getting involved and taking responsibility is important to me. This is why we
also support many different aid organisations regularly, and in some cases over a period
of several years. Our social commitment has always focused on women and children, and
we would like to support them in particular with our donations and campaigns," explains
Helmut Schlotterer, Chairman of the Board, Founder & Owner of Marc Cain.
Plan International is one of the world's largest aid organisations working for children's
rights and gender equality in more than 70 countries.
