KNITTING HIGH TECH IN BODELSHAUSEN

Since 1976 we have been knitting, printing and finishing pieces at our German headquarters in Bodelshausen. As early as the 1970s, we invested in digitally-controlled knitting machines, making us one of the pioneers in this field. In the meantime, our knitting facilities are one of the most modern in Europe. One of our most important innovations is our 3D knitting technology with which we knit pullovers, dresses, trousers and coats without any seams in just one operation - this way we create a completely finished item. In 2016 we were awarded the Innovation Prize for this special knitting technology.

3D MODEL TECHNOLOGY IN-HOUSE

Back in 2016, we established our 3D department. This was another important step for us in the direction of developing our digital collection. Since then, we have been working with the help of innovative design software that allows us to visualise the entire collection at an early stage and make our product development even more efficient. We also use the creative renderings and animations end-to-end, i.e., we also use them for the virtual theme presentation of our online shop or in our digital order tool. However, we also see great potential for the use of our virtual collection visualisation in the marketing sector and will again significantly expand its use here. This is why the area of 3D offers a broad spectrum of tasks with always new and exciting challenges.

ULTRA-MODERN FINISHED GOODS WAREHOUSE

An important investment in our "Marc Cain City" at the Bodelshausen location is our largely automated high-tech logistics centre. The design-oriented building complex with numerous glass elements is equipped with the latest logistical achievements. In addition to our large shuttle warehouse, the logistics building houses a four-storey functional building for offices, storage, technology, packaging, quality assurance and returns. The ability to manage the logistics ourselves guarantees faster availability on the market therefore giving us a further competitive advantage. The ultra-modern technology with many automations also makes everyday work noticeably easier.

ONE STEP AHEAD WITH CUSTOMISED IT SOLUTIONS

What makes our IT department special is that it develops customised, state-of-the-art software solutions for our company. One of the main tasks is to program individual products for the different areas of work at Marc Cain according to very specific requirements. These solutions not only satisfy customers and employees, but also inspire them because they are precisely tailored to our needs and are intuitive to use. This is what makes the IT tasks at Marc Cain so varied and exciting.

For the sales process, for example, our IT specialists have developed our digital ordering tool, in which our customers can now order easily with the click of a mouse. In addition, we have programmed a modern merchandise management system that shows the movement of all goods and their availability in our Stores and warehouses in real time. For our in-house production, our software developers are reprogramming our production data acquisition in order to further optimise machine running times and the utilisation of our production sites.
